Australia - Nazareth Workparties

Nazareth Workparties are groups of Australian adults who went from Melbourne to serve as volunteers at the Nazareth Hospital EMMS & 2 other projects in Galilee in January every alternate year.

They were led by Dr Paul & Rev Merrill Kitchen, who worked in the Hospital from 1973 - 75, and the volunteers served for 10-12 days, mainly painting walls. The experience, which lasted a month, involved a mix of Travel, Work and Learning.

Paul and Merrill have been friends of the work in Nazareth for many years. They run a website at http://nazarethwp.wikispaces.com. Paul passed away on the 27th December 2011 but it was a great encouragement to see Merrill and her daughter, Lisa at the Nazareth Reunion in September 2012.
