“Israel is going great! I am learning so much, and each day I am here my walk with Christ is getting stronger and stronger.”

Greg, summer cohort 2010

As we have our first SERVE Nazareth cohort settled into their placements and ministering in both the hospital and the community, we are excited to be able to offer more of the same for our winter cohort!

Join our winter programme!

The winter programme runs from November to April, over six months, and applications are now open until mid July.

This next cohort will have the chance to celebrate both Christmas and Easter in the places where they actually happened, making their time even more unique.

Relationships have already been established with local ministries and we hope to have the opportunity to expand and develop these links through future cohorts.

The experience of a lifetime

The time is also proving invaluable for the participants, some of whom have already found new direction for their lives.

“For a while now I have been praying about what God wants me to do. Every Sunday we have a worship service with other English speaking people and this past Sunday I got an answer to what I have been praying about.

We were praying in small groups and when someone was praying I saw a vision of Christ on the cross, and He said "I did this for you, now go tell other people". A Bible verse that went with this was also in the sermon. I have figured out what He wants me to do. God is great!” - Josh, summer cohort 2010

Serving in Jesus' hometown

The opportunity to focus on God and serve others is an amazing privilege and challenge. The placements range from mainly physically based help and assistance, to relational ministry opportunities, which we continually encourage. Current placements are based in the hospital in various forms, churches, local youth and children's ministries as well as in the wider community.

“I pray that I can live as selflessly and lovingly as Christ did. Thinking that my words, my hands, my feet, and my face are the closest thing that some people are going to see of Christ excites me and frightens me at the same time.

Even though God can do everything He needs by himself, instead He chooses to partner with us by using us as his hands and feet of mercy, calling us to feed the hungry, cloth the naked, and father the fatherless. Not because he is lazy, but because it betters us, the people around us, and the people we are serving. Please keep my team, this trip, and this country in your thoughts and prayers.”
