Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory, - Psalm 115:1 (ESV). Representation of the Nazareth Hospital EMMS by an unknown artist |

EMMS Nazareth is the extraordinary story of faith and Christian commitment in the Middle East for a continuous period of almost 150 years.
Our work began in the dust and colour of Nazareth in 1861 and from that time we have sought to live out the Gospel message by serving people of all faiths and creeds in the name of Jesus.
And it is in this place, this Nazareth, where Jesus walked and lived most of his life; where He was formed as a man; where He revealed His Mission and Deity to the world - it is in this place, this Nazareth, that we continue to serve today. |
|
Yet, if it had not been for the commitment of a single Armenian doctor, Kaloost Vartan, and the original vision and support of Christian believers in Scotland this work would never have taken root as it has.
And now, after wars and political upheaval, and despite the worldwide context of faith-based conflict and extremism, we are still here - situated on the side of a hill looking down into the old city of Nazareth - a quiet, constant haven - a place of sanctuary and safety - a place recognised by all, the world over, as a place of outstanding professionalism and Christian compassion willing to serve anyone who may need us.
You are welcome to explore our site in order to find out more about this precious work of faith and to see how we try to simply live out the Gospel of Jesus by providing support to those who need it and by bringing compassion and healing to the wounded and broken-hearted. |
